It was ok, and managed to hold on to all the strings, but I wanted to make a switch because it wasn't easy to put on and remove. This was especially true for my old classical guitar because it has a really thick neck and the action is very high (the guitar is a piece of junk but its been in the family for 40 years and it was my first guitar, so its a treasure).I settled on the Virtuoso Guitar Capo because I like the design, it looked sturdy, and the price. First thing I did was test it on my 1986 Gibson SG and it worked perfect. This wasn't a surprise because the neck is small and the strings don't require a lot of pressure to hold down. If you are looking to play mostly on electric, you will be more then ok with this capo. Next test was on the classical guitar I mentioned earlier. It looks nice too.The best thing is it's really easy to get on and off the neck or move to other frets with one hand only. Very nice feature. Also the rubber that presses the strings is thick and soft and the protective rubber on the back also seems pretty good quality. The old one was always a pain to get tight enough to make sure all the strings sounded right. With this Virtuoso Guitar Capo, it is much easier to put on and take off. For most people it can be operated with one hand, but people with smaller hands or children might need to use both. Either way its still easy to use. Also it works with both electric and acoustic guitars which is a plus. |
